FEELINGS
Feeling great today! Looking forward to my weigh in tonight. Was up talking to Miguel until about 5am so I didn't wake up until nearly midday, so my routine for shakes was out of the window - oops!
BODILY BITS
Nothing to report!
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - Vanilla and Coffee Latte
Lunch - Mushroom Soup
Snack - Vegetable Soup
Dinner - Raspberry and Cranberry Bar. My first try - and although it was 'managable', it certainly wasn't enjoyable like the peanut was... I have a feeling I am going to live on peanut bars from here on in!
WATER WATCH
Managed to put 2.5/3l away, but I know I need to make a bigger effort!
LOO FUN! :oS
All tickety boo!

OK - this was not the most thrilling post - I have washing going and stuff to do before the weigh in & meeting tonight so I am going to love you and leave you.
POSTS FROM NOW ON WILL BE NORMAL BLOG STYLE - NO MORE SUBHEADINGS!! I JUST WANTED TO GET THROUGH WEEK ONE SO I COULD SEE WHAT WAS WHAT!! X

Day Six! One day to 1st weigh in!
FEELINGS
Nothing really to talk about today - it has been a lazy day of doing very little. Have had a nice bath and am getting myself sorted so I can have a talk to Miguel before I go out later. Feeling quite positive. I weighed myself this morning and it showed 15st4lbs!! That is a nine pound loss! I just hope her scales are as kind!! Lol. I will stop weighing myself so regularly at some point, but it is such a good incentive to keep going!
BODILY BITS
Feel good today! Nothing to winge about - my tummy has been behaving and I just generally feel good... what a relief! The only thing that is very irritating is the, errr, increased BO... I have read that this is common when in ketosis, but it's quite a nasty smell - not your usual BO smell, if that makes sense. Eurghh! :o(
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - Raspberry shake made with ice. Nice :o) Another flavour I like - YEY!
Lunch - Chicken soup. Wasn't really in the mood - no hunger! But it was ok :o)
Snack - Half a bar of toffee and half a bar of lemon made into biscuits. The lemon is officially revolting (and famous for it by all accounts)... the toffee is managable as a chewy snack - maybe one per week, but not a favourite for sure!!
Dinner - Chocolate shake. Yummy! Like chocomilk! :oD
WATER WATCH
Am trying to force my way through a few litres - should be fine. Will definitely do two today, as well as my foodpacks - and am out tonight so will be hammering the mineral water... should manage at least 3 :o)
LOO FUN! :oS
No news! Phew!
**********************
I've got my first challenge tonight - going out for drinks for my surrogate little sister's 21st! Shouldn't be too hard to avoid alcohol, as I was never a big drinker in the first place... however I did have a borderline addiction to diet coke, so it will be hard to go to the bar and order mineral water! :oS Might take my fruits of the forest water flavour with me, so i can add it to some sparkling and pretend it is a special cocktail! :o) Hee hee!

Day Five!
FEELINGS
Hmmm... so this is what the 'not so good days' feel like! I was starting to worry that I was going to get through the first week unscathed! Heaven forbid! Lol.
The day started ok, in fact I felt great - wasn't hungry and had loads of energy - was convinced I was in ketosis and it was all good... I didn't even remember that I hadn't had my breakfast shake until gone 11am! I made the mistake of putting 2 hermasetas into my shake - nearly had to bin it - but I persevered... then about half an hour after I'd finished it the, errr, "heavens" opened :oS
Felt horrid - spent about an hour locked in the loo at work, and then came home at about 2pm and have spent the rest of today taking it easy. Fingers crossed it gets better from tomorrow.
BODILY BITS
Well, on the upside - my back didn't ache today - so that's a bonus! :oS My stomach however is churning and rumbling for England.
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - When I finally got around to it I had a vanilla (not chicken!) shake, with a big spoonful of coffee, warmed it up and added the evil hermasetas (note to self: stick to normal sweeteners in future!)
Lunch - When I got home at about 2.30pm I made a Thai Chilli soup - really not a fan, but it had to go, and it might as well be on a day when I feel naf anyway.
Snack - Ok - the lemon and toffee bars are officially YUCK. I tried a small mouthful of each as they are, and then decided to cut them each in half and chop one half of each into two pieces and microwave to make biscuits... they ended up brown and burnt in the middle, but tasted ok. I'd be tempted to get a couple of toffee bars next week for this purpose - but definitely not the lemon ones. The peanut is the clear winner in the Bar stakes at the moment!
Dinner - Vegetable soup
WATER WATCH
Ok - admittedly today has been rubbish on the water front - only drunk about 2 litres + one shake and two soups... have felt thirsty but haven't bothered drinking because I felt so sick and horrible I didn't want anything passing my lips. I am going to make a concerted effort to drink the full four both tomorrow and Sunday before my weigh in on Sunday night!
LOO FUN! :oS
Well, I don't think I need to expand on this anymore! Let's just say I am no longer constipated :o(
**********************
Oh a non-diet topic now... got a letter from Miguel this morning... awwww!!!! He's sent me one of his leather necklaces with a beautiful piece of amethyst quartz on it to keep me strong, focused and to wish me good luck. Bless! I cannot WAIT to see him in February - another great incentive for me - although I know he doesn't care, I just want to be at my best for him. I wouldn't usually advocate long distance relationships - but I think it's actually pretty perfect during Lighter Life, haha - after all, what would a 'dating' couple do that doesn't involve going out for meals, drinks etc... answers on a postcard! And then there is the rather sexy side effects.... :oS Gulp!

Day Four!
FEELINGS
Feeling ok today. I ended up having a really nice night last night. My oldest friend came round to see me and she was so supportive, I wanted to cry! I have another friend that is being quite negative about the whole thing - which is completely her prerogative - but it has been a bit hard for me to have to deal with that so early on, particularly from someone who I am close to.
Anyway - this isn't about other people - it is about me - changing my life one and for all - becoming the person I want to be before I get older. I am determined to spend at least a couple of years of my twenties behaving like a twenty something!
I weighed myself last night a few times - the first when I first got back from work and it showed I was 15st11lbs!! (I was 15st8lbs before I went to bed the night before!). I wanted to cry. About an hour later after another shake and a couple of trips to the toilet, I weight again and was 15st8lbs (PHEW!) and before bed, the same time as the night before I was 15st7lbs! WOOHOO!!! It is less than a week ago I was weighing in at 16st2lbs! YEY YEY YEY!
BODILY BITS
Getting to sleep last night was a bit of a mission... I was very tired, but I was so hungry that I almost felt sick. This morning I am ok, still sleepy, but ok. Had an inkling of a headache a while ago, but it seems to have buggered off now.
A couple of physical nasties have cropped up though.... last night I had a really bad ache in my left armpit (well, armpit to boob to be precise - you know the area)... had a bit of a feel around but couldn't feel anything untoward. I've put it down to my underwire digging in, but it didn't feel very nice. Also, my back feels buggered at the moment - I've been getting 'lactic acid'ic twinges in my shoulders (if you know what I mean) for the last couple of weeks, but haven't wanted to book a massage because I don't want to strip off for a masseuse until I am slimmer!! I'm such a plank. Lol. So, sore back/shoulder muscles, weird twinging armpit and general weakness... I've felt better, but I'm still positive and it's great to know I am getting results!
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - Hmmm... touchy subject. I was late for work AGAIN, so opened the kitchen cupboard and grabbed what I thought was a Vanilla to have for breakfast and a Mushroom for lunch... instead I got my 'yellows' wrong, and it was only whilst in the kitchen at work that I tipped out the contents to be confronted by a rather putrid stench of chicken soup. This time I really thought I was going to cry, lol! I was really looking forward to my sweet vanilla and coffee latte, but instead have had to try and stomach damn chicken soup! Despite the fact that I am now not adverse to my poultry flavoured friend, I have to say there are nicer ways to start the day!! :oD
Lunch - Mushroom soup with SHITLOADS of black pepper - to the point my lips were actually burning after i'd finished! Hahaha... nice though :o)
Snack - MY FIRST BAR! Oh my god, it was HEAVEN! I had a Crispy Peanut Crunch Bar and almost collapsed with pleasure! I didn't really think it was going to be that nice, but when my teeth sunk into the hard chewiness, I practically squealed with joy! SOLID FOOD! I am definitely going to make sure I have a good stash of those in the future - can't wait to try the other flavours now! Mmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!
Dinner - Chocolate shake with half a spoonful of coffee and a bit of ice to thicken it. Yummy!
WATER WATCH
Oh god, please help me! I need some tips about how to get this water down. I feel like I am drinking constantly but only manage just over 2 litres a day... I bought 2x1.5 bottles on my way to work this morning, and I have had those - so that is 3l... then there is my two soups and shake... that'll do ;o)
LOO FUN! :oS
Ok - same story here - I'm up and down like a yoyo, but still nothing of any, errrr, substance?? :oS Oh God, I'm sorry!! Hey ho - this is one of the joys of Lighter Life, so TOUGH! Why is nothing happening?!??!!!

Day Three!
FEELINGS
Woke up feeling really positive today! That 5lb loss last night was a real kick in the right direction! Bounded out of bed, got dressed, slapped on the warpaint and set off for work armed with stick blender and shakes for breakfast and lunch. Annoyingly when I got there I realised I'd left the crucial 'blending' part of the blender on the draining board so was a bit peeved! Luckily my shake mixed perfectly well in the shaker, but I was overjoyed at lunchtime when my brother/boss left the office for a cigarette and came back with a top of the line chrome stick blender so I could have one at both home and work! AWWWW! He is being really supportive, which is good, seeing as I am spending more time on the loo or creating instant culinary masterpieces that much else at the moment!!
BODILY BITS
The tummy rumbles have calmed down a bit - yey! I did find I got really lightheaded after my morning cigarette - and felt a bit weak and wobbly when I went out to the newsagent earlier to stock up on water... but all in all, I'm not too bad!
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - Opted for a vanilla latte again - that is... one vanilla pack, a spoonful of coffee and a couple of sweeteners for good measure and nuke it! Was scrummy! I think I am definitely going to do that most mornings!
Lunch - very very happy because I decided to risk the chicken soup again today, despite falling out of love with it after day one!! It is definitely all in the blending... on Monday I made it to a soupy texture, and found it was very powdery. The idea of putting more water made me feel queasy, as I knew it would take longer to drink - but actually, with lots of extra blending and water it was smooth and tasty!! Like with the mushroom, I put LOADS of black pepper in it, and it was almost enjoyable!!!
Snack - Back from work and decided on a strawberry shake... yum! It was gorgeous! Was actually sad to finish it!!
Dinner - Tried the caramel for the first time - definitely my least favourite shake - might be ok mixed with other flavours - but naaaaa, not for me.
SO - I can change my likes and dislikes now and proudly announce that it is only Thai Chilli and Caramel that I haven't been enamoured with - but then, I wasn't a fan of thai flavourings pre-Lighter Life, so it is hardly surprising! Still not tried the Raspberry or Chocolate shakes - but I am sure they can't be bad - and I get to start incorporating bars from tomorrow! :D
WATER WATCH
Not doing very well on the water front - again... I have probably only managed 1 litre so far, and it is mid afternoon... I have been out and bought 3 litres of Evian and I am trying to get them down, but I just feel waterlogged :o( Saying that I did have a BIG bowl of soup and a big latte - so that was probably about three quarters of a litre!
LOO FUN! :oS
I am regretting putting this as a section already! But yes - I am still behaving not dissimilar to a racehorse - and no, nothing else has happened yet. I hope it does!! I have had the big C in the past, and it ain't pleasant. Another incentive for drinking lots!
**********************
Ooh, I found this cool site called http://www.prevention.com/.... and this is apparently how I look now (I think my thighs are bigger, but it's not 'that' clever!) and this is how I will look at my goal weight! Apparently!!

Day Two!
FEELINGS
Feeling a bit better today than I did yesterday. Rather than thinking about food the second I woke up, I instead thought about which shake I was going to have! All together now... PROGRESS!! Yesterday was a Bank Holiday so I found it much harder being at home with nothing to do but wait for my next meal - it is definitely easier being at work now with things to do. I am actually feeling quite positive and starting to look at myself like a project - whenever I pass a mirror I can't help but look at my wobbles, it is strange, but I want to really know how I look now so I can see the changes happen. On Atkins I didn't real feel much slimmer, but then I didn't truly study myself - I really lost weigh blindly, and didn't appreciate the new slimmer me while I had her.
Miguel is being really supportive which is sweet. He did slip up yesterday and said I should have some candy to take away the flavour of the horrendous chicken soup - but aside from that he has been an angel at not mentioning food and telling me I can do it, and I am strong enough for this. I am very happy I've got him to vent to - despite the fact he is in Mexico and I am here in the UK... sob! :o(
BODILY BITS
One thing I have noticed today is the horrendous tummy rumbles... my colleague who sits on the other side of the office even heard one of them, and it lasted a full 8 seconds non stop! Felt amazing!!!! Ha ha. I am hoping to go to the cinema later this week, so I hope it calms down a bit!!
FOODPACK FOCUS
Brekkie - decided to try the banana, blended with ice cubes for breakfast, which was yummy! Thank God! The only down side was the fact that I had banana 'repeating on me for most of the morning!! Haha. I was tempted to throw some caramel in with it for a Banoffee type flavour, but wasn't too sure how long you can leave open sachets for in the cupboard, and didn't fancy the rest of the caramel today (in fact, must check that out - note to self). I will do my best to stick to one flavour at a time to start with, until I know what I like and don't like.
Lunch - I brought my stick blender with me to work so I could blend my soup. I was very very worried that it was going to be revolting (yesterday's chicken soup is still giving me nightmares), but I am proud to announce that the vegetable soup was scrummy!!! Next time I'll probably add more water to make it go even further!!!! I put quite a bit of black pepper on it, and it almost tasted like a proper soup. YEY!
Snack - Mushroom soup with extra black pepper... not too bad!
Dinner - Vanilla shake, mixed extra thick with ice - like a Macdonalds milkshake. Yummy!
So, so far I have had Vanilla, Banana and Vegetable that I like... and only chicken that I don't. I won't include chocolate on my hate-list yet, although the 'muffin' I made last night was repulsive and is currently sat in the kitchen bin!! I will give it another go as a shake with some coffee and ice I think - a Lighter Life mocha!
WATER WATCH
This will be a regular thing in my blog... as water is quite key in Lighter Life... and it has always been the thing that I am useless at. I could probably work quite well as a camel in my spare time! I managed to force down 2 litres yesterday which was a real mission and I am not sure how I am going to manage twice that each day. I brought a 2 litre bottle with me to work today, and I will have it finished by 5pm, so that is good - and I will do my best at another big bottle tonight, but I will be happy if I do 3... I am certainly not feeling dehydrated, so it's fine.
LOO FUN! :oS
Another regular installment in my blog will be a slightly cringey section dedicated to any strange happenings in this department (not too graphic don't worry!)... today I have found I have been going to the loo A LOT! I think at last count I had had about 8 pees! Ha ha ha. Ooh, need to go again! :oS
************************
OH MY GOD! It is nearly midnight but I just HAD to share this!!! I have just weighed myself and I've already lost around 5lbs!!!!!!!! It is quite exciting because when I had my meeting on Sunday night I thought I was going to weigh in at around 16st2lbs (according to my scales) but her special ones put me at 15st13lbs... and then yesterday night I weighed myself after only one day and it was 15st10lbs on MY scales... and tonight it is 15st8lbs! WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe this is actually happening! Talk about a big smack of incentive around the chops! YEY!
Ok, night!!! :oD

:oD

Day One!
Right - I am now officially on Lighter Life! Woop woop! It has been a very long three and a half weeks of waiting to start, and now I am here I am wondering what the hell I have let myself in for!! Ha ha. I love food!!! (Err... vicious cycle!)
SO - I have had my first shake for breakfast (vanilla, mixed with coffee and ice) and am about to have a bath and then a soup for lunch. I didn't wake up until about 11am because I was talking to Miguel until 5am (oops! The joy of mixed time zone love!)... so I am now trying to work out how to schedule my day's foodpacks. It should be easier from tomorrow when I am back at work... one before work... one at lunch time... one when i get back from work and one before bed.... makes it nice and simple! :o)
I am so so excited about starting to see changes. I have been on the Minimins forum this morning looking over all of the before and after photos and I just can't believe that I am a 'before' as I sit here now. What will the 'after' look like??? It is so cool! I can barely remember a time when I was smaller than a size 16... I did lose quite a lot of weight on Atkins about 5/6 years ago - and I know I had a pair of Topshop jeans (major milestone!), but I don't remember how it 'felt' to be slim - and (annoyingly) I've got no photos from back then. At that point I had got down to 11st7lbs... and this time I am aiming for 10. I was ok at 11, but I really want to see what I look like/feel when I have no worries about a wobbly bum etc. Plus I am going to aim that little bit lighter, so I give myself room to put up to one stone after I come off.
Ok - my bath is ready, so I am going to go and have a soak and read my book. :o)
I'll check in a bit later after another LL 'meal' or two... I might check out the vegetable soup next, ooooh, I hope I like it! :o)

I am back! It is now 7pm and I have had three of my foodpacks for the day. For lunch I had a chicken soup - it was absolutely revolting! Lol. It tasted really powdery - so I hope that it gets better with further mixing - I was literally gagging with each mouthful. :o( Nevermind - I got through it and then made a Thai Chilli poppadom for my dinner. Also pretty nasty, but not as bad, at least I managed to eat it without feeling really sick! So far the Vanilla shake was the best - but I will try each flavour before I make a decision on what to do in future weeks. I am hoping that I will be able to swap some of the chicken soups I've got at my pop in meeting on Wednesday... not sure I can stomach three more this week :o(
I am going to have a hot chocolate tonight - I hope it is chocolatey!! :o)
So, all in all, not too bad for a first day... the worst is done... i've just got to keep going now. Wish me luck!!
